Final success for the Spanish Romeo

Pinarello Q36.5’s Thomas Pidcock won the fifth and final stage of the Vuelta Andalucia Ruta Ciclista del Sol, 167.8km from La Roda de Andalucia to Lucena.

The decisive move came during the final pass over the Alto de la Primera Cruz, less than 5 km from the finish. Pidcock, after having his team work hard, attacked, remaining alone until the finish, where he edged Ian Christen of UAE Emirates and Romain Gregoire of Groupama FDJ by a few seconds. Ivan Romeo was also in the leading group, 12 seconds behind. The Spaniard from Movistar thus took the race, ahead of Andreas Leknessund, seven seconds behind, and Pidcock himself, third, 27 seconds behind.
