Pogacar plays poker at the Tour de France

Slovenian wins at Le Markstein, Del Toro second

Tadej Pogacar won the 155.3km stage 14 of the Tour de France, from Mulhouse to Le Markstein.
The stage started in pouring rain, then the sun came out. Thomas Pidcock attempted a breakaway from afar with a large group, but the UAE Emirates team, unlike yesterday, didn't give him any room. Carapaz, Valentin Paret Peintre, Rubio, Healy, and the Johannessen twins remained in the lead.
On the final climb of the day, Pidcock broke away, while Carapaz attempted a solo effort but was caught 2.5 km from the categorized climb. Vingegaard's push in the yellow jersey group hindered Skjelmose, Martinez, and Evenepoel. But Pogacar again broke away on the toughest section of the climb. The Slovenian remained alone and went on to secure his fourth stage victory.
Behind him, Del Toro leads Seixas and Vingegaard for the UAE double. Evenepoel, Ayuso, and Lipowitz are slightly further behind. Pogacar is increasingly in the yellow jersey, with tomorrow's finish an uphill climb.
