Angliru is back. Two time trials, little room for sprinters
Only one completely flat stage, 13 medium and high mountain stages, 5 'hilly' stages and two time trials for a total of 3,265 km.
Starting from the Reggia di Venaria, with the first three stages in Piedmont, a stage in France (starting from Susa) and the return to Spain with historic stage finishes such as Angliru, Bola del Mundo and Andorra. Here is the Vuelta a España 2025 , presented this evening in Madrid. The race will start on August 23 and will end on September 14 in the Spanish capital.
The Italian stages are already known, with arrivals in Novara, Limone Piemonte and Ceres. The fifth stage will be the first time trial, 20 km long, in Figueres, followed by two hard stages in the Pyrenees with uphill arrivals in Andorra and Cerler Huesca La Magia.
The terrible Alto de l'Angliru will be on stage 13, then another time trial on stage 18 in Valladolid, 26 km, and the penultimate stage with the finish in Bola del Mundo, Puerto de Navacerrada. Also watch out for the Bilbao stage that recalls the races held in the Basque Country. In total there will be 11 uphill finishes.
