The Swiss triumphs at the Clàssica Valenciana on his debut
Marc Hirschi made the best debut for his new team, Tudor Pro Cycling Team , by winning the 1969 Clàssica Comunitat Valenciana , a Spanish category 1.1 race of 184 km.
The race exploded on the Alto de Turrón Duro , a tough 3.5 km climb at 9%. The brightest on the climb were Christen and Scaroni , while Hirschi had lost a few meters before the summit.
In the final ups and downs, Hirschi managed to come back and follow Scaroni 's subsequent attack. The two-man sprint to the finish line was clearly won by Hirschi who preceded the Astana rider by 2" and Morgado and Buitrago by 7".
Good performance also for Pinarello 8th and Piganzoli 10th.
