The Slovenian would have two broken vertebrae after the fall in the Tour
There would be bad news for Primoz Roglic and Jumbo Visma. The Slovenian, fresh from retirement during the Tour de France, would have two broken vertebrae and his participation in the next Vuelta di Spagna (on 19 August) is in great doubt.
The news was communicated by Espn and at the moment not confirmed by the team that is dominating the Grande Boucle with Jonas Vingegaard in the yellow jersey and Wout Van Aert in the green jersey.
Roglic had crashed in the fifth stage of the Tour. A slip caused by a TV bike that had dragged a bale of hay on the roadway. The winner of the last three editions of the Vuelta then continued to compete with pain, reporting that "every pedal stroke is a stab in the back".
Despite this, Roglic was decisive in the Granon stage where his team-mate Vingegaard then detached Tadej Pogacar.
Further updates in the coming hours.
