Tadej Pogacar (UAE Emirates) won the 116th edition of the Lombardia, the last Monument race of the racing season today starting from Bergamo and arriving in Como after 253 km. Beaten in the sprint Enric Mas (Movistar).

The decisive action started on the Civiglio climb, about twenty kilometers from the finish, with the attack of Pogacar followed by a brilliant Mas and a revived Mikel Landa (Bahrain Victorius), then third at the finish.

The last Tour de France winner, Jonas Vingegaard , failed to respond in pursuit with, among others, Sergio Higuita, Alejandro Valverde and a good Giulio Ciccone. Nothing to do, however, for Vincenzo Nibali , out of the game at the most important moment.

For Pogacar it is the second consecutive success in Lombardy, after the first place in 2021.
