The Mexican wins the sixth stage, Pellizzari fourth
Isaac Del Toro won the sixth stage of the Tirreno-Adriatico, 188km from San Severino Marche to Camerino.
The penultimate stage of the race was also marked by a breakaway from afar: Filippo Ganna was among the attacking riders. The lead was kept under control by the leading group, with Uae and Visma pushing for their leaders, Del Toro and Jorgenson. The last escapees, Muhlberger and Braz Afonso, were caught with seven kilometers to go. Twenty-five riders remained at the front, and everything would be decided on the final climb, just over 3 km long, which had already been tackled twice during the stage.
Ben Healy was the first to attempt it, followed by Pellizzari, who managed to pull away from Del Toro. But the Mexican caught him with Jorgenson at 600 meters to go, passed the American, and went on to take the win. Pellizzari finished fourth and saved second place overall by a second.
