Jasper Philipsen won the 21st and final stage of the 2022 Tour de France with the traditional 115.6km finish on the Champs-Élysées. The Alpecin Fenix rider preceded Dylan Groenewegen and Alexander Kristoff in the sprint.

The final catwalk consecrated Jonas Vingegaard : the Danish Jumbo Visma, the absolute dominant team of the race, ousted Tadej Pogacar after two years, second on the podium and defeated with honor after three weeks of battle. Third Geraint Thomas , who saved the Tour of the Ineos Grenadiers, however first in the team classification, thanks to a surprising continuity.

In the top 10 there are at least three surprises: David Gaudu , fourth and finally at ease in long stage races, the revived Nairo Quintana in sixth place, and Louis Meintjes who gives Intermarchè Wanty Gobert the first 'weight' ranking of his history.

Vingegaard also took the climbers' leader polka dot jersey. White jersey of young people in Pogacar while the green jersey of the points classification ended up on the shoulders of Wout Van Aert, true protagonist of the Grande Boucle: the Belgian beat Peter Sagan's points record, won three stages, finished four times second and once third (in the arrival at high altitude in Hautacam). Obviously he was the one who was awarded as a superfighter of the Tour.

Italian cycling remains dry: still no stage wins, as in 2020 and 2021.
