The Tour de France 2024 could have a strong Italian accent. The organizing committee of the race is thinking of a great departure from Florence , with four stops in our country also passing through Emilia Romagna and Piedmont .

A way to pay homage to three great champions of the past such as Gino Bartali , Marco Pantani and Fausto Coppi .  

According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport , the first stage would be the Florence-Rimini , in honor of Bartali. Then the day after the departure from Cesenatico , the city of Pantani, with arrival in Bologna , a lively stage with the passage over the hills and nervous climbs.  

The following day the Modena-Piacenza , with passage over the Apennines and then the return to France , but with departure from Pinerolo , paying homage to “the Campionissimo” Coppi.  

In addition to the large Italian parenthesis, the real novelty of the 2024 Tour could be the grand finale, with arrival no longer in Paris , but in Nice . ASO (which organizes La Grande Boucle ), is thinking of a similar conclusion to the one we see for the Paris-Nice for logistical reasons, given that immediately after the end of the Tour, the Olympics will begin in the French capital.
