Kimberley Le Court Pienaar of Ag Insurance won the fifth stage of the Women’s Tour de France, from Chasseneuil-du-Poitou (Futuroscope) to Gueret, 165.8km.

The athlete from Mauritius is the new yellow jersey of the race.

The stage was decided in a narrow sprint: Le Court preceded Demi Vollering and Anna Van der Breggen while Marianne Vos was forced to relinquish the race lead.

Of note, Elisa Balsamo, Monica Trinca Colonel, and Maria Giulia Confalonieri have withdrawn due to falls. The first real climbs begin tomorrow.
