Tadej Pogacar won the 21st and final stage of the 2024 Tour de France, a 33.7km individual time trial, from Monaco to Nice. The Slovenian thus completes a real triumph with the final yellow jersey (it is his third Tour won in his career) and six stages won. The same number of successes as the Giro d'Italia, dominated from start to finish.

Pogacar equals Marco Pantani in the Giro-Tour double in the same year: the last time was in 1998 with the 'Pirata'.

Pogacar also dominated the final time trial, stopping the time at 45'24" at an average speed of 44.537 km/h. The podium of the day is the same as the 2024 edition: Jonas Vingegaard finishes second, over a minute ahead of Remco Evenepoel, third.

The gaps in the general classification are decidedly heavy: the Dane finishes at 6'17", the Belgian at 9'18".

Lots of applause upon arrival for Mark Cavendish and Romain Bardet, on their last Tour. Richard Carapaz, in addition to winning the polka dot jersey, was named super fighter of the Grand Boucle. Biniam Girmay gives the first green jersey in history to Africa while Remco Evenepoel definitively wears the white jersey of the youth.
