Sam Bennet (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale Team) won the first stage of the Tour de la Provence (2.1), from Marseille to Saint Victoret (169 km).

For the Irishman it was the first victory of the season, having beaten Kubis and Renard in the sprint, while Mads Pedersen still appeared far from his best condition and finished in fifth place.
