On the day in which thirty riders fail to start, including the Covid positive race leader Aleksandr Vlasov along with many other colleagues, Nico Denz wins the sixth stage of the Tour of Switzerland, from Locarno to Mosaalp of 177 km with the ascent to the Nufenen Pass and the arrival at high altitude after 18 km of ascent.

The rider from Team DSM preceded Clement Champoussin (Ag2R) and Quinn Simmons (Trek Segafredo) in a short sprint. Disappointment for Fausto Masnada (Quick Step), only fifth after showing that he is doing very well on the final climb.

Behind them the group of the best let go and arrived after just over two minutes regulated by Geraint Thomas (Ineos). Jakob Fuglsang remains in first place in the overall standings.
