Taco Van der Hoorn (Intermarchè Wanty Gobert) won the third stage of the Benelux Tour , from Essen to Hoogerheide of 168 km. The Dutch rider, already winner of a stage in the Giro d'Italia 2021, preceded in a short sprint Mathias Norsgaard (Movistar Team) and Luke Durbridge (Team Bike Exchange), protagonists of a winning break which also included Samuele Battistella ( Astana Premier Tech), finished fourth at the finish. The group arrived within a few seconds regulated by Peter Sagan (Bora hasgrohe).

In the general classification Stefan Bissegger keeps the jersey of leader of the general classification.
