There were no surprises in the second stage of the UAE Tour, a 12.2km individual time trial, starting and finishing on Hudayriyat Island.

Remco Evenepoel took victory with a final time of 13'03" at an average speed of over 56 km/h. This is already his sixth victory of the season.

The Belgian rider from Red Bull Bora hansgrohe is the new leader of the general classification. He is followed by Joshua Tarling of Ineos, six seconds behind, and Remi Cavagna of Groupama Fdj, twelve seconds behind.

Isaac Del Toro, winner of the first stage, lost 42 seconds.
