Lorena Wiebes (Team SD Work) wins the second stage of the UAE Tour women, from Al Dhafra Fort to Al Mirfa (111km).

Longo Borghini , Wiebes , together with Swinkels , Williams and Gillespie , try to exploit the openings at the beginning of the race and break away in the first kilometer; the quintet acquires a maximum advantage of 3'. Longo Borghini exploits the favorable situation to gain 4" precious thanks to the intermediate sprints.

From behind, the group fails to organize and is unable to close on the attackers who, incredibly, after 110 km of escape, manage to reach the finish line.

Wiebes gets the double in the sprint, winning easily ahead of Williams and Gillespie. Fourth Longo Borghini who puts 1' ahead of all her rivals in the general classification.
