The favorites of the race that opens the season on our app
The wait is over. The 2022 Fantacycling season kicks off on Sunday with the UAE Tour which includes seven stages, four of which for sprinters, a short time trial and two uphill finishes that will define the general classification.
Here are the nine riders we recommend for your first World Tour run.
The underdogs are, once again, for Tadej Pogacar (costs 60 million) . The Slovenian won last year and comes with a squadron at his side, ready to do their best in the home game. The only doubt concerns his condition: "Pogi" is a veteran of Covid. How will he be?
In the team we also took on Joao Almeida (39), Pogacar's teammate on his debut in the UAE jersey. For the final classification we are focusing on Adam Yates (38), winner of the 2020 edition, Tom Dumoulin (20), captain of the Jumbo Visma and possible protagonist in terms of time trial and not too grim climbs, Alexander Vlasov (31), who came out in great shape from the recent Spanish races, and Romain Bardet (30), capable of unexpected feats.
Fast wheels cannot be missing: Dylan Groenewegen (26) who will have a team, the Bike Exchange, completely available, Jasper Philipsen (40), who continues to grow and aims for consecration, and Elia Viviani (29). Will the blue have rediscovered the winning spirit of the good times at Ineos?
The stages:
20 February: Madinat Zayed, 185.00 km
February 21: Hudayriyat Island - Abu Dhabi Breakwater, 173.00 km
22 February: Ajman ITT, 9.00 km
