Official: Miguel Angel Lopez to Team Medellin

Miguel Angel Lopez finds a new team and signs for one season for Team Medellín EPM . The official announcement comes via a social video in which the Colombian rider thanks the team for the opportunity: “This year I will wear the colors of Team Medellín EPM – says Lopez – I want to thank the team for their trust and giving me this opportunity. I want to give my best in 2023 to leave what happened behind me. I think it's been a difficult year, I risked being without a team because the squads are practically full and there's no space. I want to repay the team's trust and I hope this year will be a year of transition. I want to enjoy the team and the calendar that we will be able to do, in races like the Vuelta a San Juan".

Lopez's arrival in the Colombian formation means that he cannot take part in any World Tour competition, but also in other minor competitions in Europe. So in the Fantacycling runners list you won't find "the painter" , who will use his palette for some drafts in South America and not to paint valuable canvases in the most important art galleries. Lopez was left without a team after the termination with Astana Qazaqstan due to his alleged involvement in the Ilex operation.
