Another sprint in the second stage

Magnus Cort Nielsen wins the second stage of the Volta a Catalunya, from Figueres to Banyoles (167.4 km).

Today again a five-man breakaway formed: Uriarte, Arriolabengoa, Fernandez, Slock and Veistroffer, with the last two Lotto riders making the difference on the ups and downs in the finale.

Slock , the last to give up, is caught in the final kilometre.
There were no major groups in the sprint, with Cort Nielsen launching a sprint on a slight uphill climb after Oliveira's attack and holding out until the finish line. Isidore and Busatto were beaten. Godon finished fourth, losing the points jersey to Veistroffer but retaining the overall lead.
