Revenge of the Colombian, good Ganna. Evenepoel loses 1'

Miguel Angel Lopez (Team Medellin) won stage five of the Vuelta a San Juan, from Chimbas to Alto Colorado by 173.7km.

The Colombian climber won the only uphill finish of the Argentine race, located at 2,623 meters but with not impossible slopes, preceding a super Filippo Ganna by about thirty seconds, and Sergio Higuita , who reached 39". Brilliant performance by by Egan Bernal , fourth at the finish line, who really worked for Ganna during the last kilometers of the stage.

After an attack with -10km to go, Remco Evenepoel was caught and then over a minute behind.

Lopez, who thus redeems the bad period which culminated in his dismissal by Astana, is the new leader of the general standings. The Vuelta a San Juan will conclude on Sunday.
