Stefan Kung won the 21st and final stage of the Vuelta a España, the 24.6 km individual time trial in Madrid. Primoz Roglic won the Iberian race for the fourth time. The Swiss specialist stopped the clock at 26'28" at an average speed of 55.755 km/h. On the podium of the day Roglic at 31 seconds and an excellent Mattia Cattaneo, third at 42 seconds. Filippo Baroncini also did well, fourth.

In the final general classification, Primoz Roglic preceded Ben O'Connor and Enric Mas. Kaden Groves won the points classification, Jay Vine the climbers classification and Mattias Skjelmose the young rider classification.
