Third place for Aberasturi
Wout Van Aert (Team Visma Lease a Bike) wins the third stage of the Vuelta, from Lousã to Castelo Branco (191.2km).
An all-Spanish breakaway with Matè, Iribar, Isasa and Ruiz was caught 20 km from the finish.
The Alto de Alpedrinha , a fourth category mountain pass in the finale, does not cause any problems for the fast wheels of the group. The group is therefore heading towards the second consecutive sprint with a compact group, with Team Visma leading the pack.
On the slightly uphill final straight, Van Aert takes off first, Groves tries to get out of his wheel, but the Belgian manages to resist and win the third stage. Aberasturi completes the podium of the day.
General classification unchanged, tomorrow the first uphill finish at Pico Villuercas .
