Alejandro Valverde remporte la sixième étape du Giro del Dauphiné . L'Espagnol Movistar devance Tao Geoghegan Hart et Patrick Konrad au sprint.

Beau travail dans la phase finale du Team Movistar , qui sous l'impulsion de Miguel Angel Lopez récupère le dernier fugitif de la journée, l'Américain de l' EF Lawson Craddock puis prépare le terrain pour la progression finale de Valverde .

Au classement général, Alexey Lutsenko est désormais en tête, avec un avantage de 8" sur son coéquipier d' Astana Premier Tech , Ion Izagirre , et de 12" sur Wilco Keldermann .
