Manager Emanuel Hubert launches desperate plea to find new sponsors before UCI deadline of October 15
The Arkéa-B&B Hotels team is on the brink of collapse , with manager Emanuel Hubert making a final, heartfelt appeal to find new sponsors who can guarantee the future of the WorldTour team.
The situation is critical: the first UCI deadline of October 2nd for bank guarantees has already been missed, and now only October 15th remains to submit the necessary documentation for team registration.
"I can't say it's over, but it's almost over," Hubert told Ouest-France. "If in a year of searching we haven't found any new commercial sponsors, there's little point in hoping for anything in the last 15 days. I've been shouting 'fire!' for ten months, why should that change now?"
If no new sponsors arrive, the consequences would be dramatic: 20 elite men's riders, 20 athletes from the women's team, 12 young people from the development team, and 95 staff members would find themselves on the market. It would also mean the end of one of the four French WorldTour teams, active since 2005.
In 2025, the team achieved significant results, including a spectacular stage victory at the Tour de France with Kévin Vauquelin and the highest placing among French teams in the Grande Boucle team classification. The women's team also shone, winning the prestigious Omloop Het Nieuwsblad .
Hubert reveals that he evaluated 25 potential offers, six of which seemed truly promising, but all fell through. "Half of the most concrete offers came from abroad. We know the money is in the Middle East or Asia," he explained.
The manager's main concern isn't so much the sporting results as the human aspect: "What saddens me most is the social impact. We live more with our employees than with our own families. And all of this will end."
