Paul Double (Team Jayco AlUla) wins the fifth stage of the Tour of Guangxi from Yizhou to Nongla   (165.8km).

The day's breakaway consisting of Su, Norsgaard, Paquot and Gibbons was only caught on the final ramps of the climb leading to the finish line.

The first to break away from the peloton were Honoré, Zwiehoff, and Double, while leader Magnier dropped away, as expected. Double attacked in the final kilometer and managed to open up a gap: the attacks from the peloton by Narvaez and Uijtdebroeks were futile and perhaps too late.

The Team Jayco rider triumphs alone ahead of Lafay , who put in a great finish, and Honorè .

In the overall standings, Double now leads with a 15-second lead over Lafay and a 16-second lead over Narvaez.
