Alex Baudin has extended his long-term contract with EF Education Easypost . The French rider and his team took advantage of the first rest day of the Tour de France to announce the extension, without specifying the duration. It's likely that Baudin has renewed until at least 2029, but even beyond: " I've always felt welcome in this team , from the moment I arrived," Baudin said. "It took me a while to adapt to a new group, but I think we have something really fantastic in this team. My first two years weren't enough, and I really wanted to stay. This team is unique. It's the way we race, the way we make our strategies, and the group we have that are truly special."
Baudin, born in 2001, had a strong Tour Auvergne Rhone Alpes (finishing twelfth) and has attacked frequently in this first part of the Tour de France, wearing the polka-dot jersey and taking fourth place in the ninth stage (won by Mathieu Van der Poel): “From the start, I felt the team gave me a lot of freedom, and I think that's what I needed to perform well,” Baudin continued. “We don't have a great leader on the team who takes all the opportunities, and I like that. I think I've started to show that the team can trust me to deliver results, and I want to continue that path here. I want to get results for myself, but also work for my teammates . We have a great team spirit.”
