Four-year deal, the Belgian leaves Visma

Movistar Team announces the arrival of the young Belgian talent Cian Uijtdebroeks (22 years old), who will ride for the Telefónica team from 2026 to 2029, signing one of the longest contracts in the team's recent history.

Winner of the 2022 Tour de l'Avenir, Uijtdebroeks has already demonstrated his worth in the Grand Tours: second among the young riders at the 2023 Vuelta, white jersey at the 2024 Giro, and recent winner of the Tour de l'Ain. A solid climber and competitive even in the time trial, he is considered one of the most promising prospects in international cycling.

“It’s an honor to bet on a young and ambitious rider like Cian,” said GC Eusebio Unzué, underlining his confidence in his potential.

Uijtdebroeks is enthusiastic: "Movistar has a glorious history in Grand Tours and a family spirit. It will be an honor to be part of it and grow alongside riders like Enric Mas."

The Belgian finally thanked Visma | Lease a Bike for the two seasons they shared: "I've learned a lot, but now it's time for new challenges." CEO Richard Plugge also praised the rider's choice.
