In France, over the 24km distance, the Belgian finished with a time of 28'26" at an average speed of over 50 km/h.

Filippo Ganna took the silver medal, 43 seconds behind, while the bronze medal surprisingly went to Denmark's Niklas Larsen, third at 1'08". Ethan Hayter and Joshua Tarling finished fourth and fifth respectively. Another Italian, Lorenzo Milesi, finished fourteenth.

Women's title goes to Marlen Reusser (33'06") ahead of Mie Bjorndal Ottestad and Mischa Bredewold. Guazzini's twelfth victory.
