The Frenchman finds the winning idea, good for Tiberi
Paul Lapeira wins the second stage of the Tour of Poland from Hotel Gołębiewski Karpacz to Karpacz, 149.4 km.
The Frenchman from Decathlon AG2R did well to time the final climb to the finish and overtook Mathias Vacek and Victor Langellotti . An excellent Antonio Tiberi took fourth place.
In the final kilometer, Kwiatkowski put in a great effort, leading the entire leading group, then Christen attempted a winning move, followed by Fisher Black . However, the two started too early and couldn't muster the energy to take the lead (they would eventually finish fifth and seventh, respectively). Meanwhile, Lapeira did well to stay on their wheels and then outmaneuver everyone with a burst in the final fifty meters.
Lapeira is also the new leader of the general classification with a 6” lead over Vacek and 8” over Langellotti.
