Meeus and Kooij beaten. Pedersen involved in a crash at the end

Tim Merlier (Soudal Quick-Step) wins the fifth stage of the Tour of Poland, starting and finishing in Katowice, 189.7 km.

Jacobs, Azparren and Banaszek break away in the early stages of the race. The stage unfolds without any noteworthy events, also due to its almost completely flat altimetric profile. The attackers are caught 10 km from the end.

At -3 km Pedersen and Bauhaus , possible contenders for today's victory, fall; on the final straight Tim Merlier chooses perfect times and beats Meeus and Kooij in the sprint.

The general classification remains unchanged with Vingegaard still in command over Ulissi and Kelderman.
