Beaten in the sprint Ackermann and Milan
Gerben Thijssen won the second stage of the Tour of Poland, from Chełm to Zamość of 205.6 km. Belgian Intermarché rider Wanty Gobert preceded Pascal Ackermann (Bora hansgrohe) and Jonathan Milan (Bahrain Victorius). Only sixth Arnaud Demare ahead of Elia Viviani.
Even today the breakaway of the day did not have a happy outcome: the last to be caught up less than 2 km from the finish line by the group, before the final sprint, was Jasper De Buyst who, together with three other riders, remained at the attack for almost 200 km. Change of leader in the general: thanks to the allowances the Norwegian of the Uno-X Jonas Abrahamsen is in the lead.
Nine riders did not start today's stage, many due to the big crash at the end of the first stage. Among them also Tobias Johannessen (Uno-X), one of the favorites to win the race.
