Evenepoel wins the final time trial, good Bettiol and Fortunato
Remco Evenepoel wins the fifth and final stage of the Tour de Romandie , the 17.1km individual time trial with start and finish in Geneva.
The world champion of the specialty precedes Joao Almeida by 11” and Alberto Bettiol by 18”.
Almeida, thanks to this placement, conquers the general classification (he is the first Portuguese in history to win the Romandie), since Lenny Martinez , who started with the leader's jersey, arrives thirteenth at 41" behind Evenepoel. The Frenchman, however, arrives in second place in the general classification, demonstrating great growth. Third place in the general classification for Jay Vine , at 41" from his teammate Almeida, while it is worth mentioning the fourth position of Lorenzo Fortunato who arrives 53rd, at over 1'30" behind Evenepoel, but manages to conquer an excellent position in the general classification.
Fifth place goes to Evenepoel who, after the Ardennes triptych, shows that he still needs to improve his condition. Worth mentioning is the sixth final place of Carlos Rodriguez, from whom we could have expected something more.
Closing the top ten are Juan Pedro Lopez, Junior Lecerf and Mathys Rondel and Javier Romo.
