Longo Borghini, second, is in the pink jersey

Sarah Gigante took her second stage victory at the Giro d'Italia Femminile. The Australian rider from Ag Insurance claimed victory at the finish line on Monte Nerone, the 150km seventh stage finish, outpacing all her direct rivals in the general classification, including Elisa Longo Borghini, whom she caught and overtook with just over 2km to go.

Longo Borghini still managed to finish second on the stage and thus wear the pink jersey.

Marlen Reusser holds her ground but loses ground: the Swiss is now 22 seconds behind Longo Borghini ahead of tomorrow's final stage, finishing in Imola. Gigante is third, 1'22" behind.

Barbara Malcotti also did well, finishing sixth on the stage. She now sits ninth in the overall standings.
