A man who knows cycling like few others, Giuseppe Martinelli embarks on a career as a sports manager after retiring from racing in 1985. He collaborates for nine years with Davide Boifava and Sandro Quintarelli in Carrera Jeans , training champions of the caliber of Claudio Chiappucci and Guido Bontempi , Martinelli also witnesses Marco Pantani 's great leap into professionalism. With "il Pirata", the legendary successes of the late 90s arrive (with the double Giro-Tour in 1998) and the victory of Stefano Garzelli at the Giro d'Italia in 2000. Successes also replicated at Saeco in the early 2000s, with the laps of Italy conquered by Gilberto Simoni (2003) and Damiano Cunego (2004) and finally in Astana , with the victories in the Giro and in the Tour of Vincenzo Nibali and (2013, 2016 and 2014) and at the Vuelta España   by Fabio Aru (2015).
