The U23 Mountain Bike World Champion dominates the French stage race with a stunning performance
Isabella Holmgren wins the 2025 Tour de l'Avenir Femmes. The Under-23 Mountain Bike World Champion dominates the competition from start to finish, improving on the second place she achieved in the 2024 edition.
Her triumphant ride began with a victory in the 3-kilometer prologue, where she inflicted a whopping 17 seconds on her closest pursuer—a huge margin over such a short distance. From that point on, Holmgren never relinquished the leader's jersey .
In the fifth stage, a short but extremely mountainous 41.6km route with three high-altitude climbs, the Canadian outsprinted Marion Bunel, the winner of the previous edition, increasing her lead over the Frenchwoman to 45 seconds.
The final masterpiece came in the final 10.3-kilometer time trial in La Rosière, where Holmgren inflicted another 71 seconds on Bunel, finishing with a final lead of 1:56. Australian Talia Appleton rounded out the podium at 4:06.
Holmgren dominated completely , taking the overall classification, the best young rider jersey, and the mountaineer's jersey, for a total of three stage wins. Frenchwoman Célia Gery consoled herself with the points classification and three stage victories.
