Departure from Lille; 44 km total time trial
This morning the official route of the next Tour de France , scheduled for 5 to 27 July 2025, was presented.
The start is set in Lille with a stage that is suited to a sprint finish, so it is very likely that the first yellow jersey will go on the shoulders of a sprinter.
The final leg returns to Paris, after the year off for the Olympics, with the usual parade on the Champs Elysees .
There are two individual time trials : the fifth stage will be 33 km almost entirely flat and will be the first real watershed for the general classification, while the thirteenth stage will feature an 11 km time trial uphill in Peyragudes.
Finally, there are five uphill finishes , in stages that on paper promise to be very interesting and full of twists and turns; among these, the finishes on Mont Ventoux, Superbagnères and Col de la Loze stand out.
