Lipowitz beaten in a two-man sprint
Paul Seixas wins the fifth stage of the Itzulia Basque Country, starting and finishing in Eibar (176.2 km).
Today, too, a large breakaway of 30 riders sets off. Veistroffer and Kruijswijk attack from among them.
On the Krabelin climb, in the middle of the stage, Vauquelin overtakes the two men in the lead and goes off alone, while Lipowitz attacks in the leading group, with Seixas always close behind.
On the descent the situation becomes more compact, with a small group of 20 riders in the lead, from which Skjelmose and Tulett are missing, in terms of the general classification.
Before the Izua climb, Healy and Soler break away, gaining 30" on the leading group, but Seixas' acceleration also puts an end to this move and he tries to attack with Lipowitz holding on.
The two rode alone to the finish line, with Seixas outsprinting the German. Romo beat the rest of the leading group to third place.
