5-man sprint: Ruegg 2nd, Gasparrini 3rd
Lotte Kopecky wins the women's Milan-San Remo, a 156km race from Genoa to San Remo.
The race explodes on the Cipressa, with Team Visma particularly active: De Vries tries immediately and the subsequent move by Niewiadoma creates a great selection, but it is Nooijen who manages to open up the gap with an attack at the top.
On the following descent, a very bad fall involved several athletes, including Niewiadoma and Court Pienaar.
Nooijen is caught at the foot of the Poggio, while trying to escape from the group, reduced to 25 units, Noskovà .
In the toughest section of the Poggio, there are five riders left in front: Pieterse, Kopecky, Gasparrini, Ruegg and Wlodarczyk.
The five resisted in the final flat stretch and played for victory in the sprint, with Kopecky clearly triumphing over Ruegg and Gasparrini .
