New in-depth column: let's review the UAE Tour in detail

The UAE Tour opened the Fantacycling season and immediately gave us a certainty: Tadej Pogacar is still the man to beat, everywhere. Those who bet on the Slovenian phenomenon at Fantacycling had to make a high but guaranteed investment.

Our statistics also confirm this: Pogacar before the UAE Tour had a quotation of 60 million and scored 532 points in total, more than all the other riders. The winner of the general classification and of the fantasy classification won 8.87 points per credit for the fantamanagers, a figure to pay close attention to.

Adam Yates , second in the general classification, is also the second in the fantastic classification with 348 points and for him, costing 38 fantamillioni , the points per credit were 9.16 .

Obviously, the more the runner's evaluation goes up, the more the points per credit figure goes down; that's why the Pogacar figure is even more impressive, given that it is quoted about 1/3 higher than Adam Yates.

The third rider of the fantastic classification was Jasper Philipsen , with 281 points scored and 7.03 points per credit .

The one who made a lot of money was Pello Bilbao , third in the general classification and fourth in the fantastic classification with 269 points : for him the points per credit were 13.45 .

Aleksandr Vlasov also did well, fifth in the fantastic classification with 250 points and 8.06 points per credit , while, numbers in hand, Joao Almeida made less, sixth in the fantastic classification with 198 points , averaging 5.08 points per credit .

Clearly the data of points per credit rises exponentially in the case of runners from a very low rate who manage to seize an exploit.

Strakhov , seventh in the fantastic classification with 147 points , before the UAE Tour had a rating of 1 fantamillione , as did Kochetkov , who instead scored 103 points . Same starting evaluation also for Vacek and Plapp who both won 78 fantapunti .

A separate discussion for the time trial specialists who are a guarantee of points, but in short stage races, unless they are also protagonists in the other stages (perhaps with a breakaway), they have a lower yield. Filippo Ganna , with a valuation of 30 fantamillioni , won 72 points , 2.4 for each credit spent on him, while Bissegger with a valuation of 20 fantamillioni took home 74 fantapunti , 3.70 per credit .

Also interesting is the percentage of points won in the general classification by a runner in relation to the percentage of total points made by the runner himself.

Pogacar scored 355 points with the overall standings alone, or 66.7% : this means that the remaining 33.3% came from stage victories and other bonuses, which is very high for a ranking rider.
