The Kazakh at Fantacycling also talks about world regret

A complex season for Alexey Lutsenko , the strong rider from Astana who talked about his 2022 and plans for next year to the microphones of Fantacycling.

The Kazakh, career winner of a stage at the Tour and at the Vuelta, twice in the top 10 at the Grand Boucle and a recent protagonist at the World Championship that left him with many regrets, explained how things went: "I had the covid at the beginning of the season and then I fell during a training at Teide, fracturing my collarbone. It has been a difficult year, I have recovered for the Tour de France where I recovered my condition and reached a good third week ”.

Then came that World Championship in which he was the last to give up under the blows of Remco Evenepoel : “Yes, I made a mistake that I paid dearly for. For two weeks I couldn't sleep, I had negative thoughts because I missed a great chance to win at least one medal. When Remco left I lost my legs, the podium seemed safe and instead I lost everything. Even the absence of the radios did not help, without communications everything was more complicated ”.

Lutsenko, recently fathered for the third time, is expected to race in the Tour de France but his racing schedule is still to be deciphered. The 30-year-old Kazakh spoke of his desire to do well in the Tour, in the classics of the Ardennes and the future of Astana, with important words for his teammates Miguel Angel Lopez and for the rising star, and compatriot world champion under 23,   Yevgeny Fedorov.
