Joao Almeida won the eighth and final stage of the Tour of Switzerland, a 10.2km uphill individual time trial finishing in Stockhutte.

The Portuguese, who had already won two stages by recovering the disadvantage accumulated in the first stage, overtook Kevin Vauquelin thus obtaining his third stage race of the season, after Itzulia and Romandia.

Behind the UAE Emirates runner, who finished with a time of 27'33", were Felix Gall, 24 seconds behind, and Oscar Onley, 1'11".

In the general classification Almeida preceded Vauquelin and Onley.
