Grace Brown is the new Olympic champion in the individual road time trial.

In Paris, the rain causes several falls, including those of Lotte Kopecky and favourite Chloe Dygert.

The Australian, in her final season as a professional, won the gold medal at the end of the 32 km course with a time of 39'38" at an average speed of 49.045 km/h. Silver medal went to Britain's Anna Henderson at 1'31", bronze medal to Chloe Dygert at 1'32".

The only Italian in the race, Elisa Longo Borghini, placed eighth.
