Let's retrace the podiums of the last three editions
Next Sunday, after two and a half years, the toughest (and craziest) race on the calendar is back: the Paris-Roubaix . Getting to the legendary velodrome, after 257 km, remains a feat of heart, cunning and luck, and predicting a winner, as always, is very complicated. To give you some useful tips, we went to retrace the podiums of the last three editions.
2017: Greg Van Avermaet (at Fantacycling cost 26) achieves a sprint win over Zdenek Stybar and Sebastian Langeveld (7). Who to bet on this year? Given the performance of the World Cup, we would like to propose Stybar, second in two editions, which costs only 18 credits.
2018: Peter Sagan (38) finally manages to conquer the French race after a long-distance attempt to which only Silvan Dillier (4) happens. Today the Slovak is not among the big favorites but he cannot be underestimated as he also finished fifth (the following year) and sixth. Maximum attention to Niki Terpstra (9), third in that edition. A rider who raced 11 times in Roubaix and achieved three podiums (with a win in 2014).
2019: Philippe Gilbert (21) at 39 takes his first success and is now preparing to race his fourth Roubaix (the first in 2007). If you don't like experience but you prefer power there is Nils Politt (19), a good protagonist in the World Championship and in that edition beaten by the Belgian only in the sprint. Finally, a specialist: Yves Lampaert (26) third in 2019, who has always stood out in the northern races. All nine will be at the start on Sunday. And you, did you choose the formation?
