The world champion will face Vingegaard, Roglič and Del Toro in a unique challenge in the mountains of the principality
World champion Tadej Pogačar will bring his 2025 season to a close on Sunday when he competes in the exclusive Andorra Cycling Masters in the small Pyrenean principality, a favourite destination for many professional cyclists.
The Slovenian champion will face off against Tour de France rival Jonas Vingegaard, compatriot Primož Roglič, and UAE teammate Isaac del Toro in what organizers have called a "historic showdown" where the four champions will compete "man against man, no teams, no excuses" to determine who is the true "king of the mountain."
For Pogačar, it will be his last effort before a well-deserved rest. "I don't want to think too much about next season. I just want to go home and relax a bit before all the chaos starts again next year," he said after his fifth consecutive victory at the Giro di Lombardia.
2025 was a busy year for the Slovenian, with 50 days of competition spread between February and October, crowned by 20 victories. Despite the successes, fatigue took its toll, as his mother Marjeta revealed: "This year I saw him really exhausted, completely drained."
The Andorra Cycling Masters will consist of two events: an 8.23 km time trial on the Coll de la Gallina in the morning, followed by a 32.1 km criterium on a city circuit in the afternoon. The event, which will not be broadcast live, will be immortalized in an exclusive documentary showcasing the riders' humanity, intended for a major streaming platform .
