Five stages with time trials and the Walls of Flanders

Five days of racing for the Renewi Tour , a World Tour race that takes place on the roads of Belgium for a total of 745.5 km, starting on Wednesday 28 August 2024. There are good opportunities for sprinters (there are at least two, if not three sprints), then a 15 km time trial that will have the task of defining the general classification and a final stage, arriving on Geraardsbergen after 202.5 km, full of walls that are covered during the Tour of Flanders.

The most anticipated protagonist is Mathieu Van der Poel, capable of conquering the same race in 2020 (then called BinckBank Tour). The world champion will have to deal with fierce opponents such as the outgoing champion, Tim Wellens , but also Jasper Stuyven (four times in the top 10 in the last four editions), Matej Mohoric (already first and second on these stages in past seasons) and Arnaud De Lie, winner of the Tour of Denmark a few weeks ago.

The sprinters will dominate: we expect great things from Jonathan Milan, recent protagonist at the Deutschland Tour, who could try to make the overall standings. Also present are Jasper Philipsen, Olav Kooij, Tim Merlier, Biniam Girmay, Fabio Jakobsen, Dylan Groenewegen, Fernando Gaviria, Juan Sebastian Molano, Sam Bennett, Sam Welsford and Phil Bauhaus.

Watch out for Filippo Ganna, who thanks to the time trial could gain precious ground on his opponents for the following stages.
