The Slovenian wins again, moving away from Vingegaard
Tadej Pogacar won the 197.7 km stage 15 of the Tour de France, from Loudenvielle to Plateau de Beille.
Pyrenean stage with five Gpm: the day's breakaway includes many interesting but now out of the ranking riders. Carapaz, Mas, Hindley, De Plus and Johannessen remain in front but the race heats up on the final climb. After making the team work all day, a proud Jonas Vingegaard accelerates. Only Tadej Pogacar remains on his wheel.
The two catch up on all the escapees but -5 km from the finish line the yellow jersey breaks away from his rival and goes on to achieve another success, consolidating the lead in the general classification. Vingegaard pays for more than 1'.
Remco Evenepoel limits the damage by finishing third but at almost 3'.
Abysmal gaps for everyone else.
Tomorrow second day of rest before the last week. But the winner of the 2024 Tour de France seems to have already been decided.
