The Slovenian passes 39" to Vingegaard
Tadej Pogacar wins the fourteenth stage of the Tour de France starting from Pau and finishing uphill in Saint-Lary-Soulan Pla d'Adet (151.9km).
A breakaway of ten riders (Michal Kwiatowski, Bruno Armirail, David Gaudu, Mathieu Van der Poel, Ben Healy and Sean Quinn, Louis Meintjes, Alexey Lutsenko, Magnus Cort and Oier Lazkano) forms in the first part of the race, with the latter who climbs the Tourmalet first.
Five remain in front on the Hourquette de Ancizan: Healy, Gaudu, Meintjes, Lazkano and Kwiatkowski, with a 1'30" margin over the yellow jersey group.
Healy remains alone in the lead as the final climb approaches, while UAE Team Emirates continues to lead the group of favourites. With 7km to go Adam Yates attacks and manages to catch Healy. At the same time, Pogacar extends from the group and clears the way, reaches his teammate at the head of the race and, subsequently, goes off alone.
Behind the Slovenian Vingegaard breaks away from Evenepoel and tries to chase the yellow jersey. Pogacar increases his lead and wins the first uphill finish of this Tour de France.
Vingegaard and Evenepoel placed on the podium of the day, while Ciccone took an excellent fifth place.
