Tadej Pogacar won the sixth stage of the Tour de France, from Binche to Longwy of 219.9 km.

In the longest stage of the Grande Boucle, with an insidious finish, the absolute protagonist was Wout Van Aert : the Belgian, in the yellow jersey, was on the run for over 100 km, first together with Jakob Fuglsang and Quinn Simmons, and then from alone. Resumed 10 km from the finish, he was then detached from the group (he reached the finish line more than seven minutes late) which, in the meantime, began to fight for stage success.

On the final climb Roglic tries to anticipate, but Pogacar is too strong and wins the sprint with an incredible sprint ahead of Michael Matthews and David Gaudu .
