Tadej Pogacar won the seventh stage of the Tour de France, from Tomblaine to La Super Planche des Belles Filles of 176.3 km with the dreaded final climb of seven kilometers with average gradients of more than 8%.

The day's escape featured Lennard Kamna and Maximilian Schachmann of Bora hansgrohe, Imanol Erviti of Movistar, Simon Geschke of Cofidis, Dylan Teuns of Bahrain Victorious, Luke Durbridge of Bike Exchange and Cyril Barthe of B&B Hotels. With them was also Giulio Ciccone of Trek Segafredo who, however, broke away from the finish.

The last to give up, 150 meters from the finish, is Kamna while behind the wheels of the strongest Aleksandr Vlasov loses.

Pogacar makes selection and the only one to answer is Jonas Vingegaard . The Dane of the Jumbo Visma, however, is overtaken by the Slovenian who conquers his second stage and consolidates his leadership in the general classification.
