Thibaut Pinot won the seventh stage of the Tour of Switzerland, from Ambri to Malbun of 194.6 km with the arrival on the final climb 12.6 km long and with an average gradient of 8.7%.

The Frenchman of Groupama Fdj was part of the breakaway of the day with the riders who fought for the partial success. In second place, with a delay of 26 seconds, Oscar Rodriguez (Movistar Team), third Alexey Lutsenko (Astana Premier Tech).

Behind them, the battle between the big names in the standings is resolved with a duel between Sergio Higuita and Geraint Thomas which sees the Colombian, the new leader of the general classification, prevail. But tomorrow the race will end with a flat 25 km time trial: the Welshman of the Ineos is the logical favorite for the final success.
